Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ben Kweller is making his long-awaited return to Australia in 2026.
A pillar of the underground indie scene, Kweller will be performing much-loved songs from his discography, as well as tracks from his profoundly moving 2023 release Cover the Mirrors.
This will be the first time in 14 years Aussie fans will have the chance to experience Kweller’s tapestry of songs in live form, set to play gems from albums like Sha Sha (2002), On My Way (2004), Changing Horses (2009) and Go Fly A Kite (2012).
Kweller will also perform songs from his achingly raw 2023 record Cover The Mirrors, one of his most emotionally-charged albums to date with Flood Magazine calling it “touching and profound”. Written after the unimaginable loss of his 16-year old son Dorian, who passed away in a freak car accident, the 12-track album explores themes of grief and soul-searching and features guest performances by longtime friends and collaborators including Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, The Flaming Lips and Jason Schwartzman’s highly acclaimed mid-aughts musical project Coconut Records.
Gracing the stage in Sydney at the Oxford Art Factory and the Corner Hotel in Melbourne, Kweller will also perform to audiences at Brisbane’s Open Season.
Raised outside of Dallas, Texas, Ben Kweller first landed on the scene in the late-90s with his grunge band Radish. Cementing himself as one of the defining voices of early-2000s rock with his solo debut release Sha Sha, he further solidified his reputation as a gifted writer on albums On My Way (2004) and Changing Horses (2009) before earning a GRAMMY® nomination for 2012 release Go Fly A Kite.
Bringing his sincerity and songcraft to stages across the globe, Kweller has gone on to tour with world-class acts including Bright Eyes, Kings of Leon, Death Cab for Cutie, Bleachers, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket, The Strokes, and Ed Sheeran. Kweller’s influence remains today with Jack Antanoff stating “Ben Kweller is one of the great American songwriters.”
